Making tactile and Braille signs accessible to touch and placing them at a consistent height throughout the building is crucial. Generally, this kind of signage should be installed at a height ranging from 1400mm to 1700mm. However, signs designed for wheelchair users, such as push button to open signs, must be positioned much lower, between 1000mm to 1100mm.

What is the thickness of the Braille signs?

The Braille signs are 1.5mm thick, making them lightweight and easy to install.

Where should I position my signage?

- Toilet door signs can be directly fitted to their respective doors.
- Door signs should generally be fitted to the wall next to the door latch. While it is okay to fit door signs to closed doors, they become useless when the doors are left open.
- Wayfinding signs should be installed on walls, ideally in a location that is visible from connecting corridors.

What colours do you recommend for maximum contrast?

For your signage to be effective, it must stand out clearly in any environment. One way to achieve this is by using colours that contrast with the surroundings. Our most popular color combination is white details on a navy blue background, but other combinations such as black on white or white on black are also effective and commonly used.

How are the Braille Signs mounted?

You can mount Braille signs using glue, tape, wire, rope, cable ties and even Velcro. However, we find doubler sided tape to be the best solution for indoor mounting of these particular Braille signs.

How do I clean Braille Signs?

Braille Signs will generally stay clean especially with the rain to wash away any light dust. If you do need to wash them down we recommend using a damp cloth with a mild soap and water to help remove stubborn stains being careful not to damage the raised braille dots on the boards.
